CR Sheets

CR Sheets

Steel sheets produced from cold reducing hot rolled coils at room temperature are often referred to as cold-rolled (CR) sheets. Their strength, formability, dimensional accuracy, and surface finish are all enhanced through this process, which makes them perfect for precision applications and ensures consistent performance across diverse industrial manufacturing requirements.

How CR Sheets Are Made

  • Hot Rolled steel is pickled to remove scale.

  • The sheet becomes thinner, smoother, and stronger.

  • Finally, it may be annealed or skin-passed for final finishing.

  • It is then passed through rollers at room temperature (cold rolling).

Key Characteristics

  • Excellent formability

  • High strength and hardness

  • Precise thickness and dimensions

  • Superior weldability and paintability

  • Smooth, clean, and uniform surface

Advantages

  • Better tolerance than hot rolled sheets

  • Suitable for deep drawing and bending

  • Higher strength compared to HR sheets

  • High-quality surface ideal for painting and coating
